I keep a 10-minute “apply promptly” kit: a one-page buyer resume variant (ERP/PO volumes, cost-savings metrics) plus 2-hour saved alerts, because these postings are like avocados — perfect one minute, gone the next. Small caveat: a lot of “remote” buyer roles flip to hybrid late, so ask about onsite cadence and travel expectations on the first call.

“Real-time” posts move fast: I set 2-hour alerts and batch-apply with SAP/Oracle tags; still skim small firms manually.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

I use Greenhouse/Lever RSS feeds for “Buyer” and “Procurement” so new posts hit my inbox fast, then I send a tight 3-line cover with PO volumes and a quick cost-down win. Small caveat: lots of “remote” listings hide “US-only” or “within X miles of HQ,” so I double-check before investing time. @jbrown38 your tagging idea pairs nicely with adding “NetSuite” and “supplier scorecards” to get past filters.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌

Quick example: adding a public mini‑portfolio link in my resume — a redacted spend snapshot and a 45‑sec Loom walking through a supplier renegotiation — has doubled my callbacks on remote buyer roles; just keep it anonymized and mobile-friendly (https://loom.com)… Minor caveat: some ATS strip links, so I also paste the same link under “Projects” in the application form.

‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌

Quick example: I put Coupa/Ariba/JAGGAER keywords in my resume PDF’s Title field and filename (JamesBrown_Buyer_Coupa_Remote.pdf), and recruiters later found me via ATS searches; @matclar, it’s helped on aged posts too, though a few portals do rename files.
