What we need to quote in 24 hours

From the supplier side, the single biggest unlock is seeing your 12‑month volume sketch and target lead time with the RFQ. When buyers share those upfront (plus acceptable alternates and QC notes), we cut our average turnaround from 3 days to under 24 hours and can reserve capacity for a longer-term relationship. If it’s helpful, I can post the one-page RFQ template we use with new partners.

We started getting sub-24h quotes after attaching a 12-month 3-band forecast (base/best/worst), acceptable alternates, and a 6–8 week ‘must-ship-by’ window — saves the ping-pong. Small caveat: if demand’s lumpy, add a floor/ceiling so they don’t reserve the wrong capacity; mind posting that one-pager?

Quick example: when we attach target AQL (e.g., 1.5/2.5), preferred Incoterms, and a short ‘no-sub’ list along with the 12‑month sketch, quotes come back in hours and apples-to-apples; if we don’t know AQL yet, we write ‘TBD — quote both 1.0 and 2.5’ so they can still price. @mateo2627’s banded forecast helps, and adding a quote‑validity date prevents surprises — it’s saved more back‑and‑forth than my toddler at bedtime.
